The first enrollment of students in the specialty "Engineering in biomedical practice" took place in 2003. The first graduation of engineers was in 2008. As an independent structure, the Department of Biomedical Engineering was organized in 2006.
The department has a highly qualified teaching staff and is equipped with modern equipment. Large research projects are carried out with the support of Russian scientific foundations, joint research is carried out with leading universities in Germany.
